Location: Interstate 84 East 34 Mile Marker, Blooming Grove Township
Description: Originally dispatched as a tractor trailer accident with unknown injuries. Within ten minutes additional calls received reporting up to three tractor trailers involved with entrapment and possible fire. 29-1 marked on scene and established the command and requested additional units from Stations 26 and 33. Further sized up of the scene found two of the three tractor trailers severely damaged. Two of the three truck drivers were able to free themselves from the wreckage with the third being heavily entrapped in the tractor that overturned. Crews from Stations 29 and 26 worked to extricate the entrapped driver, who miraculously appeared to be suffering only from minor injuries. Station 25 handled suppression efforts if required. Station 33 along with Greenville FD provided additional equipment and manpower for the extrication effort. MedEvac was requested to fly and land at McDonalds on Route 739. Medic 401 was also on scene.
